Wünsche sind Utopien. Nicht oder noch nicht realisierte Visionen, Hoffnungen und
Träume. Im Zusammenhang mit dem Thema “Der Freie Wille” werden die Wünsche wichtig; denn was unterscheidet den Wunsch vom Willen? Sind nicht die Wünsche Motor und Antrieb für unser Handeln? In einem der Ausstellungsräume steht ein Baumstamm. Die Jahresringe des Baumes sind mit Sensoren ausgestattet. Der Betrachter hat die Möglichkeit, die in den Jahresringen gespeicherten Informationen akustisch abzufragen. Dabei entspricht der erste Jahresring dem Wunsch eines Einjährigen, der Zwanzigste dem Wunsch eines Zwanzigjährigen usw. Im Baumstamm bietet sich so dem Ausstellungsbesucher eine akustische Topografie der Lebenswünsche, die ich von Menschen aus unterschiedlichen Altersstufen gesammelt habe. Das Leben - symbolisiert durch den Baum - als eine Verdichtung aufeinander folgender Träume, Utopien,Wünsche und Enttäuschungen. Entstanden im Rahmen der Digitalen Klasse der UdK Berlin.

Desires and wishes are utopias: unrealized or not yet realized visions, hopes, and dreams. I consider desires of crucial importance in connection with the theme of “free will” - for what distinguishes desire from will? Aren’t our desires the driving force behind our actions? There is a tree trunk in one of the exhibition rooms; the tree rings are equipped with sensors. These allow the information recorded in the rings to be accessed by viewers in acoustic form, whereby the first ring corresponds to the wish of a one-year-old, the twentieth ring to that of a twenty-year-old, etc. Thus the tree trunk presents viewers with an acoustic topography of “life’s wishes” I collected from people of various ages. Life - symbolized by the tree - as a condensed succession of dreams, utopias, wishes, desires, and disappointments. Developed within the Digital Class at UdK Berlin.
