Der Wille des Menschen ist frei, aber in seinem Tun ist er gefangen durch
äußere Umstände. Ist man im Geiste schwach, so unterliegt
man der äußeren Gewalt . Eine Performance in zwei Phasen. 1.Phase:
Ein runder Eisenkegel wird von schwarz
gekleideten Kaputzenmännern gerollt (symbolisiert die äußere
Gewalt). 2. Phase: Das
eingeschlossene Fleisch befreit seinen Geist. Ein Mann in rotem Gewand bricht
aus dem Kegel aus (er symbolisiert Russland). Nun befreit, reißt er
sich die Kleider vom Leib und kniet nieder. Die Luft reicht ihm ein weißes
Gewand. Der Mann geht in sich. Ein Mann in einem weißem Gewand singt
ein russisches Kinderlied und kommuniziert mit dem Geist des Mannes aus dem
Kegel über das Gewesene und Kommende.
The Debate Between the Flesh and the Spirit Human beings have a free will, but it is endangered through exterior circumstances. If we are weak in spirit we succumb to outside force. A performance in two phases. Phase 1: an iron cone is rolled by hooded men in black (symbolizing outside force). Phase 2: the flesh within frees its spirit. A man in a red robe breaks out of the cone (he symbolizes Russia). Now freed, he tears off his clothes and kneels down. A white robe floats to him through the air. The man turns inward. A man in a white robe sings a Russian children’s song and communicates with the spirit of the man from the cone about what has been and what will be.
